Upcoming Level 200 Coaching Certification Clinics

Reminder that as of September 1, 2014 - Every contact team must have at least one Level 200 certified coach for the team to be considered in compliance. In order to be a registered Level 200 coach with a club, an individual must complete the following steps:

1.       Register as a coach with USA Rugby (and pay the $65 fee)

2.       Pass a biennial background screening

3.       Complete the Player Protection Package (online) & submit certificate to USA Rugby

4.       Complete the Level 100 Coaching Rugby: FUNdamentals course (online)

5.       Complete the Level 200 online pre-course work

6.       Attend the 1 day in person Level 200 clinic

The MNRFU will be hosting two one-day Level 200 Coaching Certification classes this fall. ALL TEAMS ARE REQUIRED TO SEND A REPRESENTATIVE TO ONE OF THE TWO CLASSES – unless your coach is listed as a 200 or 300 level. If you are not sure of your current certification level, please click here visit the USA Rugby website’s Certified Coaches list.

The clinics will take place on Saturday, September 13 & Sunday, September 14 at the Apollo High School in St. Cloud, MN, and will run from 8:00am – 4:00pm.

The cost of the certification is $90 and must be paid in advance through the online portal below – USA Rugby DOES NOT ALLOW WALK-INS the day of the class (See below for reimbursement information). Lunch will be provided and is included in the registration fee, along with refreshments and course materials.

We are asking for teams that do not have scheduled league games to take the Saturday course, to leave the Sunday open for those clubs whose league has already begun.

To Register, click on the link next to your available date:

1.       Saturday, September 13, 2014

2.       Sunday, September 14, 2014

The MNRFU will once again reimburse member teams the $90 for one certified coach. This is setup as a reimbursement, so in order to qualify: teams need to have an individual go through the online process, attend one of the classes, and CIPP register as with a Coach role (they may also have a dual role as a player) for this competitive season.

Teams whose coaches received the reimbursement last year, are not eligible for this year's reimburesment; if you are uncertain whether your club is eligible, contact Becky R. at the information below.
